I didn&#8217;t get past listing the titles of seven of them. Inspired by the book week thing, I&#8217;ve decided to make it seven posts this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I first heard &#8220;Fairytale of New York&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fairytale_of_New_York\">Wikipedia<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=j9jbdgZidu8&amp;app=desktop\">YouTube<\/a>) as a teenager, because my brother was a huge Pogues fan.It has some lovely musical juxtapositions while still being something you can sing-along to. I understand that it&#8217;s a huge thing in the UK, so much so that not hearing it is a challenge on the scale of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Whamageddon\">Whammageddon<\/a>.<span id='easy-footnote-1-698' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/www.fecundity.com\/nfw\/2019\/12\/16\/sounds-of-the-season-day-1\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1-698' title=' I lost Whammageddon in the first week of December this year. I don&amp;#8217;t hate it, but &amp;#8220;Last Christmas&amp;#8221; will not be in my list of favorite holiday songs.
